This is a transscript of Willow which I made while watching the film (I revised the first half but did not get to the second half yet, that part is still from my first storyline page. Will add more detail to the second half soon! Thanks |:-) ) :

Guides to reading this script: all lines starting with # are descriptions of event. All lines beginning with * are my side comments. All lines starting with - depict actual dialogue, word for word.

# introduction: "It is a time of dread. Seers have foretold the birth of a child who Willow bring about the downfall of the powerful queen Bavmorda. Seizing all pregnant women in the realm, the evil queen vows to destroy the child when it is born."

* Sorsha is the daughter of the evil queen Bavmorda. The Midwife is a peasant woman who has the role of caring for the babies born in the dungeon. The * "mother" is the mother of the child who is supposed to bring about the downfall of the evil queen Bavmorda.

- Sorsha: Is it a girl?

- Midwife: yes, she bears the mark

- Sorsha: the omen is true, I must tell my mother...

- Mother: please help me, they are going to kill her...

# The Midwife takes the baby from the mother, notioning to her that she will save the baby.

- Mother: oh thank you madam, thank you!

# Midwife runs off with the baby

# The mother pretends to hold her baby so the guards don't realize that the midwife has already run off with it towards the river.

- Guard: stand aside for queen Bavmorda

# The queen comes in shouting, grabs the piece of cloth that the mother is holding as if it were a baby, and finds out that it isn't the baby, that the real one was taken away by the midwife. She is furious.

- Mother: you cannot stop the prophecy!

- Queen Bavmorda: this child will have no power over me

- Queen Bavmorda: where's the baby?!

- Sorsha: the midwife!

- Mother: your reign of power is at an end, they will finish them (the guards running after the baby) and they will finish you!

- Queen Bavmorda: Kill her (the mother)!

# Midwife puts the baby on a raft made out of branches, she floats it down the river. We go over to the baby's perspective, and see the midwife killed by Queen Bavmorda's death dogs. The baby floats down the stream, then gets stuck on the riverbank. There she sees the woods, a bird, and two Nelwyn children.

* Nelwyns are small people the size of an 8 year old. They have their own culture. Willow is a Nelwyn. Kaiya is his wife. They have two young children named Ranon and Mims.

- Ranon: dada, dada! (running towards his father, Willow) dadda dadda! we found something in the river...

- Willow: you know I cant come with you know I got work to do

- Ranon: you gotta come, hurry!

- Willow: (sighs) come on (they reach the riverbank) Don't go near it, it looks like a Daikini baby!

- Ranon: what's a Daikini?

- Willow: Daikinis are big, giants who live far away

- Mims: dadda is a baby! Can't we keep her?

- Willow: no! We'll push it down stream, and forget we ever saw it!

* Burglecutt is a grumpy, big fat Nelwyn who collects the rent from the farmers renting his land from him. Willow is one of these farmers.

- Willow: ssshh, its the prefect. That's all I ned. Keep it quiet and don't say anything.

- Kaiya :my husband hasnt stolen anything

- Burglecutt: Ufgood, you still havent paid your depts to me. Where did you get these seeeds

- Willow: maybe I used magic

- Burglecutt: magic, youll need magic to expect to get them (the seeds he is planting on his farm while talking to Burglekutt) planted before the rain starts. I will have this land Ufgood and youll end up workin in the mines

# by the end of their confrontation Kaiya has found the Daikini baby and takes her away to their hut

- Kaiya oh your lovely oh yes you are

- Willow: under no kondition is anyone in this damily to fall in love with that baby! Hey! I will not be ignored, mims, ranon????

- Kaiya: Willow, do you think we should take her to the village council?

- Willow: no no no! they'll think its a bad omen, there'll be a flood or a drout and I'll be blamed for it

- Kaiya willow calm down

- Willow: calm down? tomorow's my big day!!!

* The High Aldwyn is the village sorcerer who is respected. Every few years he chooses a new apprentice to teach them magic.

- Kaiya the High Aldwyn hasn't picked a new apprecntince in years

- Willow: tomorrow's different-I just know that he's gonna pick me.....

# He looks at the baby who is in his arms smiling at him. He smiles too. Next scene: The next day at the Nelwyn fair he tries to do some tricks but ultimately makes a fool out of himself. Nelwyn's are seen kissing, laughter, partying! Willow tries to make a pig disappear, but fails...drum rolling heard. Someone shouts that the High Aldwyn will now choose his new apprentice. Willow pushes a stick through his hand which is in a wood bark, aahing heard.

- Willow: and now for my final amazyin trick I will make this entire pig disappear. Please watch very closely (mumbles magic words... pig runs out under table that he's working on...laughter.)

- Announcer: attention, the High Aldwyn will now make his choice for a new apprentice

- Burglecutt: (Willow goes up to the podium, presents himself as one of the contestants for apprenticeship) willow ufgood..is this a joke?

- High Aldwyn: magic is the bloodstream of the universe...

- High Aldwyn: forget all you know, or think you know. All that you require is your intuition. The power to ntrol the world is in which finger?

# The High Aldwyn puts his hand for the contestants to choose a finger. The first chooses the middle one, secont the pointer, willow the ring finger.

- High Aldwyn: no apprentice this year! (crowd shighs in disappointment)

# Suddenly, Queen Bavmorda's death dogs invade the Nelwyn settlement, mess everything up. They are loooking for the baby, but can not find her. After fierce fighting, the Nelwyn warriors manage to kill the big death dogs.

- a Warrior: it was looking for someobody's baby

- Willow: Kaiya!! (He runs back to the hut fearing that she was hurt)

- Kaiya: I'm here

-Willow: oh Kaiya...(they hug) we cant keep the baby, we have to take her to the village couuncil

# Next scene is at village council.

- a Warrior shouts out: one beast we can kill but there may be more

- a Nelwyn: its a sign!

- another Nelwyn: whose to blame for this???

- yet another: we must find the coppard and throw him in the pit!!! (yoo-hooing, cheering and jeering from the crowd)

# Willow walks in with the Daikini baby in his arm, but hearing the crowd he tries to sneak out.

- High Aldwyn: Willow! Willow Ufgood, come forward.

- Willow: we found this baby near the river

- High Aldwyn: its a daikini baby! This child is special. It must be taken across the river all the way to the crossroads.

- a member of the crowd: who will do that?

- Burglecutt: it seems only fair that the man to take this baby to the crossroads be the very man who plucked it out of the river

- High Aldwyn: I will consult the bones. (on the side, to Willow:) the bones tell me nothing. Do you have any love for this child?

- Willow: yes, yes I do.

- High Aldwyn: (to the crowd:) the bones have spoken. Willow Ufgood, the safety of this vilage depends upon you. Who has the courage to protect this brave fellow on his journery?

- A warrior named Vohnkar: I'll go

- Burglecutt: no not Vohnkar, he's the best warrior in the village. Vohnkaar step back

- High Aldwyn: all this expedition needs is a leader, and according to the bones this leader is … you, Burglekutt!

- Burglecutt: Vohnkaaaaar!!

# Next scene shows Willow and his helpers before departing on the journey to the crossroads. Good-byes are said.

- High Aldwyn: what's your porblem son?When I held up my finger what was your first intuition?

- Willow: to pick my own finger

- High Aldwyn: hahaa! that was the correct answer. You lack faith in yourself. More than anyone in the village you have to potential to become a great sorcerer. Now when your out there take these with you

- Willow: acorns?

- High Aldwyn: you have much to learn willow ufgood

# Willow then says goodbye to his family, is given a lock of his wife's hair, and some magic acorns from the High Aldwyn. They move out. The next scene shows them traveling through rough country.

- Kaiya: weve never beeen apart, Imiss yu already

- Willow: dont worry Kaiya, I'll be fine and i'll be back before you know it

- Kaiya: well, remeber to keep her warm and here, this will bring you luck (gives him a lock of her hair, they hug)

- High Aldwyn: The outer world is no place for a nelwyn, give the baby to the first Daikini you see and hurry home. Go in the direction the bird is flying (he throws a rock into the air, it turns into a white pigeon)

* Daikinis are humans.

- Burglecutt: it's goin back to the village!

- High Aldwyn: ignore the bird, follow the river |:-)

- A soldier: move out!

# Next scene back in Bavmorda's castle.

- Queen Bavmorda: I didnt ask you to bring a dead nursemaid! Sorsha you're useless

- Sorsha: I'm backtracking the nursemaid right now, I'll find the baby

- Queen Bavmorda: ahh, General Kael at last

- General Kael: I have dsestroyed the castle at Galladoorn

- Queen Bavmorda: good, now I have another task for you: help by daughter find that baby that continues to elude her

- General Kael: the baby that has been prohphecied to destroy you?

- Queen Bavmorda: I must perform the ritual that will exile the child's spirit to oblivion

- Sorsha: I don't need his help mother

- Queen Bavmorda: you will do as I say

- The queen's advisor: I read the signs, one day I fear your daughter will betray you

- Queen Bavmorda: I trust her loyalty more than I trust yours

# Next scene shows Bavmorda's soldiers looking for the baby

- Bavmorda's Soldier: the Nelwyns have got the baby. Search the village and then report back to the queen

# Now we see that the company has arrived at the crossroads. Wolfs are heard howling

- A Nelwyn Warrior: what was that? get the spears...

# Willow strays near one of the cages hanging from a tree, suddenly a hand reaches out and grabs him by the collar. The hand is Madmartigan's hand, a thief.

- Madmartigan: get me some water peck understand?

# He lets Willow go so he can get water, but he does not.

- Madmartigan: get me some water you measly little pecks!

- A Nelwyn soldier: it's a daikini, we're in luck

- Willow: we can't give it to him

- A Nelwyn Soldier: we gotta give it to him, those soldiers are after us!

# Madmartigan makes funny faces for the baby, she laughs.

- Burglecutt: I trust him completely!

- Willow: but he tried to strangle me

- Burglecutt: I wanna go home

- Willow: no!

- Burglecutt: are you challenging my authorty?

- Willow: as far as this baby's conerned yes!

- Madmartigan: dont listen to him Burglekutt

- Burglecutt: okay, you stay here but we're going home. Listen here mut: while your wasting your time here your fields aren't getting planted, think about that!

- Willow (angrily): Im gonna...

- Burglecutt (haughtily): your gonna what?

- Madmartigan: Burglekutt let me out of here please!!! Vohncar let me borrow that spear just for a minute.... dont leave me here with these two!

# Burglekutt and the other soldiers head on back to the village, except for Willow and Meegosh, Willow's friend.

-Madmartigan: That was really stupid peck.

-Willow: dont call me a peck.

-Madmartigan: oh im sorry, peck.

-Willow: you be careful, I am a powerful socrerer, see this acorn, I Willow throw it at you and turn you into stone.

-Madmartigan: OOh Im really scared, (Shouting) no don’t! don’t! there's a peck here with an acorn pointed at me!

-Willow: auuw, wouldn't want to waste it.

-Madmartigan: peck peck peck peck peck peck peck peck

# Next morning, everyone wakes up. Madmartigan is still in his crow's cage, Meegosh, the baby, and Willow are sitting around a burnt out campfire.

- Madmartigan: mornin boys, rough night last night wasn't it? I dont think I introcuded myself-my name is Madmartigan.

# Meegosh gets soft, goes to Madmartigan to give him some water.

- Willow: ... no Meegosh dont go near him he's dangerous

# A soldier gallops by.

- Willow (to the soldier): stop! wait!

- Willow asks in a nonchalant manner: what's going on?

- Madmartigan: smells like a battle

- Willow: I suppose you're a warrior

- Madmartigan: Im the greatest arrior that ever lived! Say, could I have some of that water?

# Willow ignores him.

- Madmartigan (pretending to cry): oohoooohoh, I dont know why I try, I guess I am gonna die here

# Willow is softened up, goes over to give him water.

- Willow: here...

- Willow: what's that???

- Madmartigan: Id say 2-6 hundred wagons, and about a thoulsand fools

# Willow, thinking about the army that's seen on the horizon, spills the water. The army reaches the crossroads.

- Willow (to one of the soldiers): scuse me sir

- Soldier: out of the way, peck

- Willow: pardon me

- Willow: scuse me sir we found one of your babies in our village

- Soldier: going into battle little one, find a woman to take care of her.

- Madmartigan to Soldier: I thought you were a woman Eric (Eric was Madmartigan's friend),

- Eric: well, Madmartigan, what'd you do this time

- Madmartigan: nothing you would have done in my place

- Eric: I always knew you would end up in a crow's cage

- Madmartigan: well at least im not down there hurting sheep

- Madmartigan: what are you doin this far north

- Eric: the Nockmaar army destoryed Galadorn

- Madmartigan: the castle?

- Eric: destroyed

- Madmartigan: come on let me out of here, I'll win this war for you

- Eric: I still serve Galadorn, you serve no one, sit in your cage and rott

- Madmartigan: Ill be around long after you're dead...when I get out of here Ill stick your head on a pole!

# The Army is seen passing beyond the horizon.

- Madmartigan: nobody's gonna take care of that baby, you know why: nobody cares...except for me....

- Meegosh: I believe he would willow

- Willow: he doesn't even know anything about babies

- Madmartigan: yes, but I know somebody who does. If I had somebody in my life, a little daughter maybe, I really would have a reason to go on living

# Meegosh suddenly lets Madmartigan out of his cage.

- Madmartigan: I feeeeeeeeeeeel better!!!!

- Madmartigan: (to baby)come to daddy little darlin, (to Willow and Meegosh)she likes me!

- Willow: here's her milk bladder

- Madmartigan: any milk in there?

- Willow: it's for her!

- Madmartigan: you worry too much peck

- Willow: it's "Willow"

- Madmartigan: okay, Willow.

# Willow and his friend Meegosh leave the baby with Madmartigan and head on home.The camera follows them on their way home. The two are heard celebrating their glory.

- Meegosh: oh come on, if we huurry home well make it back by tomorrow morning, we'll be heroes!

- Willow: you really think so?

Willow: Meegosh, did we do the right thing?

Meegosh: absolutely! there's nothin to worry about

{Suddenly a bird is seen being ridden by a brownie carrying the baby. Meegosh and Willow are then surrounded by brownies and are knocked out. They wake up all tied up surrounded by brownies. An fairy queen named Cherlindrea hovers over them and tells them that she knows Elora Danan, which is the baby's name. The angel tells Willow to go and take this wand (which she gives him) to Fin Raziel. Next morning Willow send Meegosh home and he goes on his way to find Fin Raziel. Two brownies go along with him to lead the way. Rain comes, they go into a Daikini bar/house to get milk. The Daikinis shout at him to "get out of here." The two brownies fight over a love potion, the bag brakes and Rool falls in love with a cat 20 times his size. Later on, they go into a side-room where they see Bavmorda again. He is posing as a woman hiding from the husband of a girl he slept with. The husband, Airk, sees him but thinks that he is a sexy girl.}

HunKaiya (to Madmaritgan dressed as a girl named Hilda, he says in a manly but drunk voice:) wanna breed?

Madmaritgan: tempting, but….no!

{Soldiers burst into the room, Sorsha is with them. They are trying to find the baby. Sorsha yells at Madmartigan who is still dressed as Hilda:}

Sorsha: you, woman, let me see that baby.

{He pushes her away, she Queen Bavmorda's death dogs off her helmet}

Madmaritgan: you're very beautiful.

Sorsha: and you're very strong.

Madmaritgan: thank-you.

Sorsha: you're no woman...

{She tears his diguise off}

Llug: not a woman! not a woman!!!!!

Madmartigan: gentlemen, meet Llug...

{Llug goes nuts...Madmartigan, Willow and company go out and steal a horse-drawn wagon. They are pursued by soldiers, fighting-while-riding ensues. Madmartigan & company wins.They let the wagon go, Madmartigan walks off, tells Willow to go home. Willow follows him. Bavmorda gets soft. He then tells the brownies:}

Madmaritgan: mumbo, jumbo, go get me some eggs or somethin

Brownies: we are not afraid of you!

Bavmorda: now!!!!

{The brownies run off to get food.}

{Next scene back in Bavmorda castle, queen yells at her guards.}

{Next scene showing Brownies, Willow, Madmartigan going to sleep around campfire. Willow tries magic but mistakenly shoots himself up into a tree-branch with the wand. Rool yells in his dream, Franjean says "you and your stupid rat dream again"}

{Next scene: Madmartigan sits near waterfall giving Elora Danan some blackroot. Willow takes it away. They soon arive at Razelle's island. }

Willow: I found a boat.

Madmartigan: good, take these two lizards out and drown them.

brownies: Lizards! your mother was a lizard!

{Madmartigan leaves them once again. Willow puts Elora Danan in a basket and hides her. He then gets into the boat and goes to the island in the middle of the lake. It is a small island with no one on it. He loses hope, but then a fat rat talks to him, they talk and he finds out that the rat is Fin Raziel, that she was transformed by Bavmorda. He takes the rat back to the mainland. Brownies (who staid on the mainland) see Fin Raziel and say that "this is Fin Raziel? I expected something less...less fuzzy." Then soldiers arrive again. They were told about Willow's location by Madmartigan who was captured.}

Sorsha(on horseback to Madmartigan): lose your shirt?

Madmartigan: still got what counts...

Sorsha: not for long!

{Madmartigan and Willow and company are dragged off in chains}

Sorsha (to Madmartigan): what are you staring at?

Madmartigan: your leg, I'd like to break it.

Sorsha: you might find that difficult while I'm up here and you're down there!

Madmartigan: I hate that woman.

{next scene in soldier's camp up on top of mountain covered with snow, Willow is trying to turn Fin Raziel back into her human form}

Bavmorda (to Fin Raziel): what are you gonna look like if this works?

Fin Raziel: I am a young, bautiful woman.

Madmartigan: Concentrate Willow.

{Willow turns Fin Raziel into a crow, falls back. Madmartigan bothers brownies who then hit him with what they think is the dust of broken hearts, but what really is a love potion. Madmartigan then picks the lock and frees the company and they proceed to Sorsha's tent to free the baby. However when he enters, he sees Sorsha and the love powder takes effect, he starts talking to her...:}

Madmartigan: Oh Sorsha, I love you...(the others whisper at him to get the baby and come out) Oh Sorsha, wake from this hateful sleep it deprives me of your beauty, the beauty of your eyes,

Sorsha(suddenly waking up and thrusting a dagger against Madmaritgan's heart): one move jackass and you really will be a woman

Madmaritgan: you are my sun my moon my starlit sky woithout you I dwell in darkness I love you

Sorsha: what are you doing here?

Madmaritgan: your power has enchanted me I stand helpsless ahainst it come to me now, tonight let me worshiop you in my arms

Sorsha: get away from me

Madmaritgan: I love you

Sorsha: stop sayin that

Madmaritgan: how can I stop the beaitong of my heart, it pounds like never vefore

Sorsha: out of fear

Madmaritgan: out of love

Sorsha: I can stop it-I can kiill you (holding dagger against him)

Madmaritgan: death maketh love a trivial thing........ your touch is worth a hundred thouldsand deaths

{soldier burstst into tent, Sorsha sees baby being taken by Willow, she then yells "deceiver!" Madmaritgan then collapses the tent. He grabbes the moment and kisses Sorsha. Fighting starts, Willow says to Madmartigan "you really are great," and of course immediately Madmaritgan falls on his back. Madmaritgan, Willow and the brownies jump on shield with the baby and use it as a slead to ride down the mountain. Madmaritgan falls off the sled-shield and starts a rolling ball of snow, they all crash into a village below. At the bottom Madmaritgan's head is cleared of the love potion. Then Nockmaar soldiers are seen by the villagers, the whole village goes into hiding into secret chambers under the wood houses. Erik and his men turn out to be in this same village. Sorsha finds their hiding place, walks down into it, Madmaritgan takes her hostage, the enemy soldiers are forced to put their weapons down. Madmartigan than rides off with Sorsha, Willow, the baby, and the brownies. The next scene shows them down in some valley. where Madmartigan has a little quarrel with Sorsha while holding her on his hirse. Sorsha manages to escape. The company makes it to Tir Asleen where the big army is suposed to be waiting to help them. But there is no one there, the fortress is abandoned. They settle down in the abandoned fortress. Madmartigan finds some armor which he plays with and sets up traps with. Willow tries to turn Fin Raziel back into her human form but instead turns her into a goat. Then Nockmaar soldiers arive and start breaking down the gate of the fortress. Willow goes up to a tower to hide, but is attacked by trolls. He fends them off with his wand. The soldiers break in. Madmartigan thinks that he intimidated them when they pull back after seeing him, when in fact there is a huge dragon behind him. Chaos ensues as the two-headed dragon, the soldiers, Madmartigan, and the trolls fight. Soon Madmartigan manages to stab the dragon through the neck. The dragon's head then blows up. Sorsha then has a change of heart and helps Madmartigan up and kisses him. With this act she changed sides from evil to good. Soon resistance soldiers arrive (lead by Erik) to help Madmartigan. Further fighting ensues but the evil general Kael manages to steal Elora Danan and rides off. Erik's soldiers, Madmaritgan, and Willow and the two brownies follow the Nockmaar soldiers back to Nockmaar castle. There they make camp outside of the castle, but Queen Bavmorda turns them all into pigs using magic except for Fin Raziel and Willow who manages to protect himself using the wand. Bavmorda sees that her daughter Sorsha is with Madmaritgan, that she has truly turned against her as it was foretold, and she turns Sorsha into a pig too. Bavmorda then goes up into the main tower and starts the ritual to exile Elora Danan into oblivion. Meanwhile Willow turns Fin Raziel back into her human form. Fin Raziel then takes the wand and turns all the good people back from being pigs into their original forms. Back in Nockmaar castle the queen continues the ritual. At camp Willow presents a plan to get into the Nockmaar castle, which they execute in the morning. Inside the Nockmaar castle, the two armies fight. During all this Sorsha, Willow, and Fin Raziel go up to the highest tower to stop Bavmorda from exiling Elora Danan. It comes down to the two witches fighting with magic. Bavmorda throws a fireball at Fin Raziel, who then freezes Bavmorda. Both of them overdome the other's challenge. Bavmorda then pretends to be dead, and while Fin Raziel is leaning over Bavmorda she knocks the wand out of her hand. Meanwhile the two armies are fighting. Eric is killed by general Kael. He says to Madmaritgan "Win this war for me." This gives Madmartigan more energy as he himself starts fighting with General Kael, Madmartigan comes out victorious. Up in the tower, the two witches come down to blows. Bavmorda wins. Willow tries to sneak away with the baby but Bavmorda sees him. He throws one of his acorns at her, which tries to turn her to stone but fails. While Bavmorda is trying to overcome the power of the acorn, Willow hides the baby, and pretends to hold the child. }

Bavmorda: is that the extent of your powers little one? Now you will watch me draw upon the power of the universe to send that child into another world, now place it on the altar!

Willow: no

Bavmorda: no?

Willow: you stupid hag, with my magic Ill send her into a into a

Bavmorda: you'rs no sorcerer

Willow: into a realm where evil cannot touch her

Bavmorda: impossible, there's no such place

Willow: elgapelle swappen elgapelle bell aggep hanuajh

Bavmorda: oh-higen supp-genoa

Willow: helgapelle!

{He lets go of the baby's cloak which Bavmorda thought of as the cloak that the baby was under (that sure was a twisted sentence, oh well). She frieks out thinking that Willow did send the baby a "realm where evil cannot touch her.")

Bavmorda: iiiiiiiiimpossible!

{The evil queen Bavmorda then steps into the same potions which she made to destroy the baby with. While in these magical potions she lifts the magic wand up, and lightning strikes her. A few seconds of dazzling special effects show as her spirit and body is torn from this world into oblivion.}

{The scene now shows Sorsha as the wife of Madmartigan and the baby which they took as their own. Willow is then seen departing from Sorsha and her new husband Madmartigan. He takes the brownies with him. Back in the village he is celebrated but the seen of his wife smiling at him makes him the happiest. The camera now zooms out and fades over to the credits.}
